Ayla's Album

So a few months ago, I set a goal for myself to scrapbook a page for each month for my kids until they are 2. Now I haven't gotten very far on that goal, but that leads into my goal for this year, which was to scrapbook more.  It started out strong, and I got a few more pages done for Ayla's album, but I am still way behind!!  Anyways, here's what I've got so far!  Everything was used from my stash!

First Food, which was of course baby cereal!

Currently I am stumped with the Feb 08 page.  I have the picture chosen, the layout I can figure out after, but I'm not feeling any of the paper I have.  But I am NOT going to buy new paper, I have so much of it, I will just have to find something that works!

(the Sept 07 pic is making me crazy cause it's just a bit off, and I've tried to adjust it, but it's not moving!!  Sigh.)

Happy Birthday

So this is a birthday card I made for a friend.  It is very, very late cause her birthday was early January!!  Oh well, I haven't seen her since before Christmas, so it's ok!! Hopefully we will be getting together soon, and I'll be able to give this to her!!

I just got this cool stamp set from Close To My Heart, called "All Decked Out".  It is so cute!!  And since her birthday is in January, I wanted to kind of make it a winter theme, so this is what I came up with!!  I think the paper is CTMH, the cupcake is from a Stampin Up set.  I used some ribbon and brad from my stash to make the scarf.  I used "White Perfect Puff" on the hat and cupcake. I used a dimesional to adhere the cupcake, and used a simple "happy birthday" on the inside.  The swirls I heat embossed with white and iridescent ice embossing powder.  And of course some bling in the corner!!  I think this turned out pretty close to what I had pictured in my head!!  Pic is kinda fuzzy, but the one taken with the flash on did not turn out at all!!

All About Me

So for the past few years I have been participating in my friend Miranda's 10 for 10 clubs.  She sells Stampin Up, and I love getting together with her once a month and seeing and making the cards or scrapbook pages she has come up with for that month.  A lot of the pages I post will be her design, so I can't really take credit for it!!  This year she wanted to do something a bit different with her scrapbook and decided to do an album "all about me".  This is the first page of that album.

Miranda has a Big Shot, so the fancy, scrolly things are made with that.  Paper is (obviously) Stampin Up.  I added the flower and button from my stash.
So this pic is a 4 generation pic taken when my daughter was about a year I guess.  Don't remember exactly how old she was!!  I have been trying to find a metal tag that will fit across the oval, but so far haven't had any luck!!  Bought the shaped paper at our local scrapbook store and used a Stampin Up paper for the background.
This is my son at about 3 1/2 months.  I used a rub-on in the center that says "these are the days of miracle and wonder".  Again, I used Stamping Up paper!

I haven't figured out how to rotate these yet, doing it from the album didn't seem to work.  Oh well, you get the idea!!

Random

This is for my daughter's 3-D ultrasound.
I believe the papers and ribbon are from Stampin Up, the rest was just in my stash!!

This is the birthday card I made for my daughers 3rd birthday.  She loves Dora at the moment!!  I did a bit of paper piecing, and cut out the face and hair shapes out of Stampin up paper.  The eyes, nose and mouth were hand drawn.

First Post!!

So, I am new to the blogging world.  I have been following some friends on their blog journey, and they seem to be having fun, so I thought I would give it a try!!  I am making this blog about cards and scrapbooking, but I'm sure there will be some posts about the kids once in a while!!  I have been attempting to scrapbook for about 10 years or so.  I find it quite challenging most of the time, because ideas do not come easy.  I once sat down and scrapbooked a page, and it took me an hour.  Now looking at the page would take a normal person 5 minutes, but because I didn't know what I wanted to do, I had a hard time!!  I have started to keep a little book, and sketch my ideas and what not as they come, seeing as I don't get to scrapbook as often as I'd like!!  I think it's the paper that gets me.  I never seem to have what I want, even though I have tons of it!!  A few years ago, my hubby bought me a photo-printer, and it has come in so handy for this!!  Now I don't have to send my pics off to be printed, unless I want something bigger than 4X6.  I'm not really sure how often I'll be posting, but I am hoping that this will keep me more motivated to keep up on the goals I have set for myself when it comes to scrapbooking!  Well, that's it for now!!  I hope you enjoy!!  :)
