Merry Christmas

I've got another Christmas card to show you!  I've made this one before with a silver cardstock, but I wanted to try it with the glimmer paper from SU.  I used "A Tree For All Seasons" stamp from SU, and "white perfect puff" to create the snow.  The snowmen's scarves where coloured with my SU markers.  The snowman was in my stash.  I am going to enter this card at Sweet Stamping Challenge Blog, where the theme is snowmen, snowflakes, snow people or just snow,  Oldie But A Goodie where the theme is Christmas, no red or green, and Creative Accents Challenge Blog where the theme is Christmas!  I think I have all areas of that covered!!  So here is my card:

Merry Christmas

So this is another Christmas card, and I absolutely LOVE it!!!  :)  The colours are not at all traditional, and that's ok!!  I think that it makes it extra special!!  Anyway, I want to enter this card in a few challenges: One Crazy Stamper challenge where the theme is "Christmas/Holiday, Stamptacular Sunday where the theme is "anything Christmas", and Christmas Card Challenges.

The card base is textured and came in a box of cards I bought at Micheals called "brights".  Handy to have on hand if you don't want to use your solid cardstock for your cards!!  The stamp is "Season of Joy" from Stampin Up. The ink I used was Sage Shadow, and Pretty in Pink, both from SU.  The flowers were stamped, then cut out and I used a diamond brad, and mounted it with a dimensional.  I used my basic rhinestone jewels from SU for the bling under Merry Christmas.   This is really so pretty and looks way better in person!!

Christmas Cards

I have been making Christmas cards again this year, and am happy to say that I am almost done!!  Here are a few pics to show you just a few of the cards that I have come up with!!  Some have been CASED and others just kinda came together!!

So for this one the deer and sentiment are gold heat embossed.  I used gold eyelets in the corners, and found this cool gold ribbon in my stash!!  Now when it comes to decorating my house, I do not like the traditional Christmas colours, but I think they worked out wonderfully on this card!!

I love this tree!!  It has so many possibilites!!  This card is a CASE, meaning copied.  :)  The snowflakes were stamped in a blue ink, and then I re-stamped them with a glus pad and sprinkled glitter on them.  I now have glitter everywhere, but that's ok!!  If or when I do this again, I may choose a darker blue for the snowflakes.  The bird was stamped from the same set and paper pieced on.

This is another CASE card.  Simple and beautiful!!  :)

Another CASE!  The branches are from the SU set Noble Deer.  The ornament was firstly stamped, then punched out to create my own background.  Tied some ribbon around the top, and voila!!  I used Elegant Eggplant as the card base.  Not a traditional Christmas colour, but I love the way it looks!!  :)

That's it for now!!  I have made lots more cards, but don't plan on posting them all!!  Thanks for looking!!  :)

Invite

So this is the invite that I made that got mailed out to family and friends. The paper is from my local craft store, and I also used in on the card as well.  I used dimensionals to adhere the front of the card since it is the same paper.  Only a few more pages left and this book is done!!  Woohoo!!  :)

Thanks for looking!!  :)

Grandkids 2

So I did another grandkids page using the pics from the photoshoot we just had!  The paper is from CTMH, and I had these word brads, so I thought I would put them on there too.  They say "laughter, memories, friends".

Uncle

So this is a page I did for Uncle Donald.  He is not married, and has no kids, but he needed to be in here somehow, so I came up with this!!!  I found some uncle quotes and phrases online, and hand wrote them, then cut them out according to size. I also popped two of them up using dimensionals, just to give the page a little something!

Here is what the quotes say:

-Uncles are one of a kind
-An uncle is a gift whose worth cannot be measured except by the heart
-An uncle grows more treasured as time goes by
-Everything is nicer when shared with an uncle
-Uncles like you are precious and few
-An uncle makes life sweeter
-Uncles who are as nice as you are great to be related to

Grrrr, it loaded sideways!!!  Anyone know how to flip it???  Anyway, thanks for looking!!  :)

Dalaney

This is my niece Dalaney's page for the in-laws scrapbook.  Their anniversary was yesterday, and guess what???  I'm not finished the book!!  Surprise, surprise!!  Oh well, I will get it to them soon!!  I finally got some new ink for my printer, so hopefully in a few days I will finally be able to get the book to them!!  On to the page!!  This page uses all CTMH products.  I had bought a kit a while ago called "You and Me.  I saw the one layout they used, and I wanted to use it for my neice. The pictures I edited to have the sepia look, cause it went better with the paper.  All in all it was a fairly simple layout.  The only thing I wish I would have done differently is used my swirl stickers instead of the swirl stamp.  Oh well, next time!!  :)  Anyway here is the page, along with a few close ups!!

Blog Candy WINNER Repost!

Soesty!!!  You won my blog candy!!  Please leave a comment with your mailing addy!!  :)

Grandkids

So I have also been working on my in-laws scrapbook, and their anniversary is this Friday, and I was hoping to have it done by then.  I don't know if that will happen though.  My photo printer ran out of ink, and I've been having a hard time getting more. The joys of living in a smaller town.  :(  Anyway, I did a couple of grandkids pages.  I kept it simple (of course), and used the same papers for both pages.

So this top pic shows how the pages look in the book, and of course it loaded sideways.  Whatever.  The next two pictures are close ups.  I used green chipbaord letters for "grandkids" and some stickers in my stash for "aren't they grand".

Thanks for looking!!  :)

You're a great friend...

So a few weeks ago I won 3 digi stamps of my choice, and I made a card for a friend.  She is having a gastric bypass done, and I wanted to send her something to say I am thinking of her!!  Now this friend is always having dreams of zombies chasing her, and has the best sense of humour, so when I saw this sentiment, I knew I had to use it!!

The colour combo is inspired from the movie Sleeping Beauty when the witch turns into a dragon.  I had looked for a certain digi zombie image, but just couldn't find "the one", and I saw this guy in the Zellers flyer, so I cut him out and mounted it on cardstock and glued him on.  I embossed the purple cardstock using my big shot and used the twill tape hoping to achieve a zombie look.  Anyway, this sentiment just cracks me up!!  And I hope to make my friend smile!!  Anyway, that's it for this!!

Thanks for looking!!  :)

I'm a winner!!!

So a few weeks ago I did a blog hop, and found out today that I won some blog candy!!  3 digi images from Graphicat Stamps.  I chose three sentiments that I have not seen anywhere else!!  I am already planning on using one on a card for a friend who is having a gastric bypass done!!  I'm so excited because this is the first time I have won something doing a hop!!!  :)  I'll post what I create later.  I have to let it soak in my creative juices for a little while before I can make the card!!

WINNER!!!!

Ok, so I know I said I would do the draw on Friday the 7th, but I can't wait that long!!  :)  So I wrote all of your names on a piece of paper and had my daughter draw the name, and the lucky winner is....  Soesty!!!  So, Soesty, please either comment here or email me at goddessdunbar@hotmail.com with your snail mail addy please!!  :)

More pages....

I've been plugging along with the in-laws scrapbook, and have a couple of pages to share today.  Their anniversary is coming up the end of this month, and there is still about 10 pages or so that I need to get done!!  Yikes!!  Breathe, don't panic!!!  :)  Anyway, here is what I've got for you to see!!

So the first page you see is me and my husband on our wedding day.  I used a textured white cardstock as the base.  The pictures were framed with white glitter paper and navy.  Our wedding colours were navy and silver, so I was trying to keep with that theme.  Pretty simple, but I love how it turned out!!

This next page is my kids.  The top picture is my daughter, about 1 day old.  We were still in the hospital, and the bottom picture is my son, about the same age, and in the hospital.  Again, keeping it simple!!  I found these little round sticker things and used them all up the side.  I used my Big Shot from SU for the scallop pieces, and on them wrote all their birth info.

Close up of the stickers.

World Card Making CANADIAN Blog Hop!!!

Hey everyone, today is World Card Making Day and we have a whole lot of Canadian crafters out there!!  To celebrate, a bunch of us got together and created this hop!!  If you just happened upon here, and would like to participate in the hop you start here, with Tara!  If are already participating, you should have arrived here from Roxy!  I have a couple of Christmas cards for you today!  I have been busy trying to get these done, you know, before the snow flies!!  :)  So here is what I have for you to see!

So right off I am going to apologize for the pictures.  A photographer I'm not!!  These were taken in my window sill, so that's why all the white space.  Anyway, this first card is on a 5x5 kraft cardstock base.  I used burgandy paper from Stampin Up and DP is from my local craft store.  I love this paper!!  Note to self: must get more!!  :)  The ribbon is from CTMH, but Stampin Up has it too.  And the button is from my stash.  I used some hemp twine to tie around the ribbon and through the button.  Buttons are not my friends, and I have a really hard time with them, so I was so happy with this!!!  :)

This card is the same, except the base is 5x6, and I used a green button rather than a burgandy one as above.

I think this card is my favourite!!!   It's white 4x6 cardstock, layered with black and silver.  The tree stamp is from "A Tree For All Seasons" from SU.  I used White Perfect Puff to get the "snow" effect.  I also used some stickles on the "ground", but I will use the perfect puff next time.  The sentiment is from the "Holiday Wishes" stamp set from SU.  The snowman was in my stash, not really sure where he came from, but I think he fit this card perfectly!!  Going to have to find more of him!!  :)  I also coloured the snowmans scarves and mitts hanging from the tree in different colours with sharpies.

Another view.  Hopefully you can see the dimension the "perfect puff" gives!!

And, if you're feeling lucky, here is a wee bit of blog candy!!  I have Halloween chip board, "baby" gift trim, dimensional sentiments from Basic Grey, book plates and an assortment of jewels, buttons, and felt shapes from Artsylicious.  So, are you feeling lucky??  Great!!  All you have to do is leave me some love people!!!  You can follow me it you like, but I only want you to follow if you like what you see!!  I will do the draw on the 7th the old fashioned way!!  I will post the winner here, so be sure to check back!!  :)

So that's it!!  Your next stop is Nancy.  Thanks for looking!!  :)

Darren and Barbie

So here is the next page for the inlaws scrapbook.  It's my brother and sister in law.  I glued a die cut to a 12x12 piece of cardstock.  I had the ribbon in my stash, and tied a silver star to it.  Some calligraphy stickers, a butterfly, the pictures and I was done!!  Really simple, but pretty too, I think!  :)

More Christmas Cards!

When I find a moment, I am busy trying to get my Christmas cards done!!  Plus I still have to finish the inlaws scrapbook, and get going on my gifts which is going to be a box filled with cards.  It's not always easy finding the time, especially with two little ones running around, but even just 1 a day is better than nothing!!  :)  So here are the next few cards I have done.  They are really simple.  I don't want to get fancy or complicated, 1) because I am not that kind of scrapbooker, and 2) they need to be easily duplicated.  So here they are:

25 Years!

The next page for the inlaws scrapbook is their 25th Anniversary page.  Again, keeping things simple, I bought a really pretty page.  I have recently downloaded Picasa from Google, and  thought I would play with it a little bit for these pictures.  I'm definitely not an expert, but I think I did a pretty good job doing a few retouches here and there!!  The original pics scanned kinda yellow and there were blemishes, so I fixed all those up and brightened the colours up a bit!!  I bought some Butterfly embellisments from K&C Company (I think!), and placed them randomly on the page.  I found a quote online and hand wrote it.  Gotta work on my handwritting!!  Came across a great tip the other day, and I'm going to have to try it!!  Anyway, I used a rub-on the the 25yrs just to make it stand out a bit more.  Here is the page:

For the Newlyweds

So while cruising blog land, I came across this blog http://nancyscreativemess.blogspot.com/, and had to scraplift an idea!!  Here is what I used as inspiration:

I just love this card!!  So clean and simple, the kind of card making I like!!  :)

And here is what I did:

Sorry for the poor lighting!!  The cardstock is white!!  This is what I get for trying to take pictures in the evening with a lamp!!  Oh well!  I had these paper flowers in my stash, and I found some black rhinestones to use as the centers.  I have a friend who is getting married this weekend, and this is going to go to her.

Thanks for looking!!  :)

Christmas Cards

So I've done a couple of Christmas cards.  I do not want to feel rushed/pressured this year, and since some of my gifts for family are going to be a box of homemade cards, I think I better get on it!!  Plus a friend has asked to make cards for his company, and I denied him last year, but think I might take on the challenge this year!!  Anyway, I am trying to use my scrap paper up as well, and the paper I used is double sided from Stampin Up.

I wanted this one to look like a present.  I crimped the paper and tied a nice bright green ribbon around it.  Used my ornament punch from Stampin Up and a simple "Merry Christmas" stamp on the ornament.

So this is the same paper.  I stamped the label using another Stampin up punch.  The sentiment is also a Stampin Up sentiment.  The ribbon is from my stash.  Another simple card!!

happy shower

Hello!!  Here is a card I made for a friends bridal shower.  Pretty simple really.  I found a card in a magazine clipping that I liked, so I followed the same format to make this card.  Originally I had a completely different paper and colour combo chosen, but I just wasn't happy with it, so I went and started digging through my papers again, and found this!!  I tied a small ribbon and used a stamp from the "Tag Time" set from Stampin Up.  She loves dragonflies, so much so that she has a tatto of one, so I found these cute dragonfly brads and used one on the tag.  I also found the little butterfly and mounted it with a dimensional.  I hope she likes it!!  Here is the card:

Growing Up...

Well, it's September and that mean October is almost here!!  Sorta!!  Anyway, the next installment of the in-laws scrapbook is a double layout.  I don't do many of these because I find them to be quite challenging.  But while digging though all of my stuff I came across a "plan-a-page" called "rhythm" from EK Success.  It is a plastic grid with 8 different blocks, and a multitude of page options!!  And because I had lots of pictures, I figured this was exactly what I needed!!  Anyway, as per usual the most challenging part of scrapbooking for me is the paper.  Damned paper anyhow.  Sigh.  So the first page of the layout went really quickly with this plan a page.  All the pictures fit for the most part.  I had to get one printed a bit bigger to fit the large space, but that was easy enough to do thanks to Walmart!!  :)  Both pages are very simple with no embellies. So here they are:

Sorry for the poor photography, and the top one loading sideways.  These are random pics of the boys in their childhood  I used the plan a page for the bottom layout a bit differently.  It would have looked the same as the first, but the big pic had to be turned sideways, and I couldn't get it layed out like the first one.  Oh well, you get the idea!!  I used some calligraphy stickers to write "those were the days" and "growing up".

Thanks for looking!!  :)

A Mother's Love

Here is the next page for the in-laws scrapbook.  I haven't done much for scrapbooking or making cards this summer, just haven't either a) had time, or b) been in the mood for it!!  But I also know that time goes by quickly, and I want to have this scrapbook done by October!!  Sounds far away, but before I know it, October will be here and I don't want to be in a panic.  Anyway, here is the page:

All supplies from my stash, something new I thought I'd try is the key and heart lock.  My thought was "you have the key to my heart", seeing as it's my MIL with her boys.  I found this poem called "A Mothers Love" online and printed it out on plain white paper and stamped the flowers all over just to give it some interest.  I used flowers I had in my stash and tried to do something creative with them.  The ivory ones at the bottom are actually 3 flowers adhered close together.  I never know how to embellish pages.  I don't like really busy pages so I try to keep the embellishments simple, but I find it hard to decide what to put on the page.  Anyway, I think this page turned out alright.  I didn't want to do too much cause the paper itself is very pretty.   I used my Big Shot from SU and a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background behind the pictures.

Thanks for looking!!  :)

iPood

So here is the next insert for Ayla's scrapbook.  My sister had bought her a onesie that said "iPood".  Too cute right?? Anyway, I had a couple of cute pics of her wearing it, and thought I would scrapbook it!!  So here's my page:

I used a bright green textured cardstock, and BoBunny die cut.  I used my ric-rac ribbon from CTMH and a piece from my hodge podge hardware from SU.  I punched the butterflies out and adhered little pearls to them.  The flower I had in my stash, and I added a pearl then spritzed it with Pearl Glimmer Mist for a bit of shine.  To get the cloud shapes I used a Fiskars template (which I am getting tired of using!!  Can't wait to get more dies for my Big Shot!!).

Some close ups!!

A Card Box and Some Cards

So awhile ago I posted on Facebook that I would make/sell these card boxes filled with 8 cards and envelopes for $20.00, and a good friend of mine ordered one!!  So this is what she is getting!!

I kept the cards fairly simple.  She didn't want any sentiments, which was a challenge in itself, but I managed to do it!!  This card I stamped a stem and the same flower with 2 shades of purple.  I cut one out and used a dimensional, and used a rhinestone for the center of each.  Inked the edges with purple, and used a Fiskars template for the shape.

I used my Stampin Up set for this flower, and tied a ribbon, and attached a rhinestone to the center just for a little something extra.  It's also mounted on black cardstock which is hard to tell because of the black chair I used to take the picture.

Another Stampin Up set.  I used my sponge dauber to make the clouds.  I also used some hemp twine to create a nest for the bird which was stamped then cut out.  I also used some ribbon to create the grass at the bottom.

So simple it doens't even require an explanation!!

The stamp is from Stampin Up and was coloured with Stampin Up markers. The red scalloped piece was in my scrap drawer.  Added some ribbon for a finishing touch.

I used both sides of double-sided paper for this and added some bling.

I think this one is my fave!!  I used Glimmer Mist to create the background, then paper pieced all the leaves and birds on, I then finished it off with some white Glimmer mist just to give it a bit of shine!!

Another simple, self explanatory card!!

That's it, and that's all!!  Thanks for looking!!  :)
