Darren and Barbie

So here is the next page for the inlaws scrapbook.  It's my brother and sister in law.  I glued a die cut to a 12x12 piece of cardstock.  I had the ribbon in my stash, and tied a silver star to it.  Some calligraphy stickers, a butterfly, the pictures and I was done!!  Really simple, but pretty too, I think!  :)

More Christmas Cards!

When I find a moment, I am busy trying to get my Christmas cards done!!  Plus I still have to finish the inlaws scrapbook, and get going on my gifts which is going to be a box filled with cards.  It's not always easy finding the time, especially with two little ones running around, but even just 1 a day is better than nothing!!  :)  So here are the next few cards I have done.  They are really simple.  I don't want to get fancy or complicated, 1) because I am not that kind of scrapbooker, and 2) they need to be easily duplicated.  So here they are:

25 Years!

The next page for the inlaws scrapbook is their 25th Anniversary page.  Again, keeping things simple, I bought a really pretty page.  I have recently downloaded Picasa from Google, and  thought I would play with it a little bit for these pictures.  I'm definitely not an expert, but I think I did a pretty good job doing a few retouches here and there!!  The original pics scanned kinda yellow and there were blemishes, so I fixed all those up and brightened the colours up a bit!!  I bought some Butterfly embellisments from K&C Company (I think!), and placed them randomly on the page.  I found a quote online and hand wrote it.  Gotta work on my handwritting!!  Came across a great tip the other day, and I'm going to have to try it!!  Anyway, I used a rub-on the the 25yrs just to make it stand out a bit more.  Here is the page:

For the Newlyweds

So while cruising blog land, I came across this blog http://nancyscreativemess.blogspot.com/, and had to scraplift an idea!!  Here is what I used as inspiration:

I just love this card!!  So clean and simple, the kind of card making I like!!  :)

And here is what I did:

Sorry for the poor lighting!!  The cardstock is white!!  This is what I get for trying to take pictures in the evening with a lamp!!  Oh well!  I had these paper flowers in my stash, and I found some black rhinestones to use as the centers.  I have a friend who is getting married this weekend, and this is going to go to her.

Christmas Cards

So I've done a couple of Christmas cards.  I do not want to feel rushed/pressured this year, and since some of my gifts for family are going to be a box of homemade cards, I think I better get on it!!  Plus a friend has asked to make cards for his company, and I denied him last year, but think I might take on the challenge this year!!  Anyway, I am trying to use my scrap paper up as well, and the paper I used is double sided from Stampin Up.

I wanted this one to look like a present.  I crimped the paper and tied a nice bright green ribbon around it.  Used my ornament punch from Stampin Up and a simple "Merry Christmas" stamp on the ornament.

So this is the same paper.  I stamped the label using another Stampin up punch.  The sentiment is also a Stampin Up sentiment.  The ribbon is from my stash.  Another simple card!!

happy shower

Hello!!  Here is a card I made for a friends bridal shower.  Pretty simple really.  I found a card in a magazine clipping that I liked, so I followed the same format to make this card.  Originally I had a completely different paper and colour combo chosen, but I just wasn't happy with it, so I went and started digging through my papers again, and found this!!  I tied a small ribbon and used a stamp from the "Tag Time" set from Stampin Up.  She loves dragonflies, so much so that she has a tatto of one, so I found these cute dragonfly brads and used one on the tag.  I also found the little butterfly and mounted it with a dimensional.  I hope she likes it!!  Here is the card:

Growing Up...

Well, it's September and that mean October is almost here!!  Sorta!!  Anyway, the next installment of the in-laws scrapbook is a double layout.  I don't do many of these because I find them to be quite challenging.  But while digging though all of my stuff I came across a "plan-a-page" called "rhythm" from EK Success.  It is a plastic grid with 8 different blocks, and a multitude of page options!!  And because I had lots of pictures, I figured this was exactly what I needed!!  Anyway, as per usual the most challenging part of scrapbooking for me is the paper.  Damned paper anyhow.  Sigh.  So the first page of the layout went really quickly with this plan a page.  All the pictures fit for the most part.  I had to get one printed a bit bigger to fit the large space, but that was easy enough to do thanks to Walmart!!  :)  Both pages are very simple with no embellies. So here they are:

Sorry for the poor photography, and the top one loading sideways.  These are random pics of the boys in their childhood  I used the plan a page for the bottom layout a bit differently.  It would have looked the same as the first, but the big pic had to be turned sideways, and I couldn't get it layed out like the first one.  Oh well, you get the idea!!  I used some calligraphy stickers to write "those were the days" and "growing up".
