Daddy's Girl, Quad Ride

This is Ayla's April 08 scrapbook page.  She is 8 months old, and it is her first quad ride!!  I cut the pics 3X3 across so I could get them to sit side by side.  Everything I had in my stash.  The "quad ride" letters are chipboard that I found at Walmart and the green star says "daddies are so much fun".  I am entering this page into the challenge at The Studio Challenges where the theme is "Frames".

Fishin' You A Great Day!

I am entering this card into 3 challenges this week!  The first is a sketch challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday, the second is a recipe challenge at Cards For Men, and the third is from Stampin' Royalty where the challenge is to "Mark it Up!".  So here is the sketch I was following:

Here is my take on the sketch.  The image is "Curtis" from Kraftin' Kimmie.  The recipe called for 1 image, 2 designer papers and 3 embellishments.  The paper is from Stampin' Up, and my 3 embellishments are the buttons.  For the "Mark It Up" part I coloured Curtis with some SU markers and MS crayons.  For fun I added the fishing pole I found in my box of assorted stickers and embellisments.  I punched a hole through the sentiment and attached the hook to it.  I used dimensionals to adhere the sentiment.  I think it's a fun card!!

Close up of the fishing rod:

Thanks

I saw this sketch at Clean and Simple Stamping, challenge #127 and it was right up my alley!!  I like my cards and scrapbook pages to be clean and simple, so I thought I'd give this challenge a go!!  Here is the sketch:

Here is what I did with the sketch!  Loving the green and purple together!!  Stamp is from "In Any Event" from Stampin' UP.  The cardstock, flowers and brads from my stash. Background is stamped with "fresh fillers" from SU.

Good Luck

This card is for Cupcake Craft Challenges, where the challenge is to have at least 1 heart.  I used a silver doyley that I cut the center out of (I used that for a different project), and glued 4 red heart jems that I found at the Dollar Store with the tips pointing together to make the clover like shape, which was the inspiration for the "good luck" sentiment.  I glued a pearl in the middle, and a little gingham bow to give it a bit more visual interest, and to hide where I had cut the doyley.  Simple, and versatile as any sentiment would fit!!

Love You, Dad!

This card I made for the Sketch n Stash Challenge Blog, Sketch Challenge 55.  Along with the regular challenge they also want you to use either your newest or neglected stash.  I did a bit of both!!  So here is the sketch I was following:

And here is my take on the sketch.  The new would be the stamp set.  It's called "A Man's View" from http://www.flourishes.org/.  The neglected would be the paper that I found in my scrap drawer.  I used the Hodgepodge Kit from SU for the doo-hickeys (I forget what they are called ATM).  The background is the bubble wrapper stuff they put in boxes of chocolates.  The sentiment says "Love You, Dad" and would work with either a birthday or Father's day card. I'm thinking my hubby will get this for Father's Day!!

Just Fore You

I got new stamps the other day and couldn't wait to use them!!  I found this sketch at Sketch Saturday, and I knew which stamp I wanted to use!!  Here is the sketch I was following:

And here is my take on the sketch.  The stamp I used is "Raymond the Golfer" from Kraftin' Kimmie.  The paper and cardstock are from SU and the ribbon is Close to my Heart from the Ric Rac Collection.  I used "So Saffron" ink from SU to smudge the edge of the sentiment and Raymond.  I used a Fiskars template to get the shape.  Raymond is coloured with my Martha Stewart crayons.

Happy Anniversary

A friend of mine asked me to make an anniverary card for her in-laws, and I saw this sketch at Get Sketchy, so I thought I would give it a go!!  Here is the sketch I was following:

And here is my take on the sketch!  Red card stock from SU, the swirlies in the background were heat embossed with enamel embossing powder, the paper and ribbon are from my stash, and I heat embossed "Happy Anniversary" on red cardstock with white embossing powder for the sentiment.  I hope both parties like it!!

Soup Can Valentines

So these are what I did for my nieces and nephews for Valentines Day.  I used soup cans with the pop top lid, and used a fancy can opener to open from the bottom so I get the whole piece and not just the inner, sharp circle.  I filled them with chocolates and trinkets from the Dollar Store and decorated with Valentine paper.  I used crystal effects from SU to glue the bottom of the cans back on, and I stamped their names out and tied them with twine. Voila!!  Easy, fun and endless possibilities!!

Thank You

I made this card for the Fab 'n' Funky Challenges, where the theme is "Tempting Texture".  I don't normally have a lot of stuff on my cards, so I'm really happy with how this turned out!!  I used purple cardstock from Stampin' Up, and the pearl is from the Pretties Kit from SU, the rest was just in my stash.  I cut out the circle, inked it with Regal Rose from SU and used an edge punch, then I crumpled it, a bit more ink, and kept crumpling.  I stamped a simple "Thank You" because there is so much else going on.  Anyway, the more I look at this the more I love it!!

Happy Birthday

Another sketch challenge card!!  This is for the challenge at Get Sketchy, challenge #73.  Everything was from my stash.  I wanted to use some fresh, springy colours and I think I achieved it.  Probably one of the busier cards I've made paper wise.  The stamp sets used are "First In Fashion" and "Teeny Tiny Wishes", both from Stampin' Up.  I blinged the purses up with jewels I found at the dollar store.  Here is the sketch I was following:

Here is my take on the sketch:

Hard to tell, but the green background paper is a bit sparkly, and I used purple to frame the center.  Love the combo of green and purple, going to use that more!!

Thanks for looking!!  :)

Letter A from Stampin' Up  $5.00

Bundle of Joy stamp set from Stampin' Up.  $5.00.

Ink, Rose Red and Pretty in Pink from Stampin' Up, $5.00 each.

Happy Birthday From the Cat

This card I made for the Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge #6.  The challenge was "Birthday Wishes", and each card must feature an animal.  I used some scrap paper and ribbon  from my stash, and used "Here Kitty, Kitty" and "The Cat's Meow" stamp sets from Stampin' Up.  The kitty is coloured with sharpies, and I made the ball of string with some embroidery floss I had kicking around, and also weaved it in and out of the image to make it more life like.  The sentiment reads "Happy Birthday From the Cat", and is adhered with a mounting square.

Happy Fathers Day

So this is a 2-in-1 challenge card!!  The first challenge is a colour challenge at Stampin' Royalty Challenge #57.  The colours we were supposed to work with were Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede and Baja Breeze.  I am not sure that I used the exact colours because all of my cardstock is mixed together, but I think I got it pretty close!!  I hope!!  The second challenge is a sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday.  Here is the sketch I was following:

I chose to make a Fathers Day card because to me the colours were masculine, and making masculine cards is a challenge in itself!!  Anyway, the stamp sets used are called "Noble Deer" and "Teeny Tiny Wishes", both from Stampin' Up.  The brad is from my stash.

You Cured Yet??

Another challenge card!!  This one is for The Cupcake Craft Challenges, where the theme is "Old McDonald Had a Farm".  I've had this stamp set from SU forever, and don't remember the last time I used it, so this was a perfect time to dig it out!!  It's called Farm Fever.  All papers are from SU, and the image was coloured with MS crayons.  I cut the cardstock to 5 1/2 X 5 1/2, and used Fiskars Templates for the diamonds in the background.  All in all I think this turned out pretty good!!

Be My Honey

So this is another Valentine card. I made it for the challenge at http://charismacardz.blogspot.com/, where the theme was "No Embellishments".  Everything is SU, stamp is from (retired) Vintage Valentines.  I used my scallop edge puncher to frame the squares.  I coloured the image with my MS crayons, and the heart I coloured with a water crayon and blended.  Simple, and easy!!  :)

I was going to enter this card into another challenge blog, but now can't seem to find it!!  Oh well!!  Maybe another day!!

Thanks for looking!!  :)

You're The Cat's Meow

So this card I made for the Stampalot Challenge at http://sirstampalotchallenge.blogspot.com/,  "All Creatures Great and Small".  I used Stampin' Up paper, and the rest was from my stash.  The stamp set is from SU and it's called The Cat's Meow.  I love these colours together, and I love the way the card turned out!!

Thanks for looking!!  :)

Ayla's Album Con't....

So I finally did the Feb 08 page.  I put aside the paper I thought I wanted to use, and instead put it to use on Valentines crafts, which I will show later, as they're not done yet!!  I didn't take many pictures in Feb 08, so my selection was very limited.  I chose this pic because it was pretty much the only one I had to work with!

The paper is SU, and the rest is from my stash!  The brown ribbon is ruffly, and I chose the blue ribbon to go on top to give a bit more dimension.  The pic shows Ayla's first Valentine's teddy bear and some pink onsies that were a gift from Gramma I believe.

This is the March 08 page.  It says "I don't like beans!", because she didn't like beans!!  LOL!!  The beans in the middle of the page I found online.  I printed and cut them out.  The rest of the stuff was in my stash.

Canoe Be My Valentine??

So this is my first ever challenge card.   I don't usually go all crazy for Valentines Day, but it's that time of year and I wanted to use this cute (retired) stamp set I have from SU called Vintage Valentines.  The cardstock is SU and everything else is from my stash.  Here is the sketch I was following from http://stamping411.blogspot.com/:

This is my take on the sketch:
(I followed it very closely!!  LOL!!)

Close up of the stamped image:

I heat embossed the hearts, and coloured the image with water pencils (crayola), Martha Stewart crayons and SU markers.  I also went over the letters with Stampin' Write Journaler in basic black from SU to make them stand out a bit more!
