I'm feeling accomplished!!

So, I have been scrapbooking and making cards for 15 or so years, but haven't got much of my own scrapbooking done.  I have completed my daughters 1st year scrapbook, and still working on my son's first year (he's almost 6 now).  I have not tackled trying to scrapbook anything else because I really didn't know where to start, or how far back I want to go.  I have pictures I took when I was a kid all the way to now.  It's overwhelming, seeing all the photos and not knowing where or how to start.  I also have a bin full of layouts I have completed over the years just waiting for pictures.  What to do, where to start??!!  I have also been purchasing (cause that's what I need is more stuff  ;) ), some PML programs from CTMH.  So a few weeks ago, I decided I was just going to start.  Pick a year and go!!  And this is what I want to show you.  I chose the year 2014.  The album isn't completed yet, there's still some journaling and a few more pages to add, but I am feeling great about it!!  I love the pocket scrapbooking/project life stuff I see these days.  My plan is to combine both the project life and traditional scrapbooking, and I think I've succeeded!!  So here's what I have so far for 2014:

We went to Vegas.  I need/want to buy or make a card for that blank area.  Also, since I have so many pictures of Vegas, I think I will add another page.

Damon's 4th birthday.

August was a huge picture month.  Every year in August our town has a Fall Fair, and we also went on a road trip and went to the beach.  It was such an awesome vacation!!

I also plan on doing a scrapbook page for our cattle roundup that we do every October.

That's it for now!!  But I'm basically done!!  It feels great!!  Next I'll focus on 2013.  :)

So it has been forever since I've participated in a challenge!!  This sketch at Atlantic Hearts was my inspiration.

Here is my card:

I used Huntington (retired) and Jackson paper and the current SOTM, Balloon Animal.  The result is this cute, fun card!!  It was really easy to put together too, once I decided which paper to use.  :)

Birthday Cards

It's been a while since I've posted any of my own stuff!!  Tonight I made 4 cards to demo for a workshop I plan on having later this month.  I made 4 juvenile birthday cards, 2 for boys and 2 for girls.  I dug through my older paper and stamps and came up with these.  I really need to figure out how to edit my pictures though. My lino flooring leaves something to be desired!!  ;)
