Hearts of the West Blog Hop

Welcome to the 1st Hearts of the West Blog Hop!!  Our fearless leader Nancy Klein choose our first color challenge: Buttercup, Sorbet, New England Ivy, Gypsy, and Lagoon as well as the basic color pallet.  The lighter purple is optional!!

Aren't those colours gorgeous???  So bright and cheery!!  It's still brown and muddy where I live.  Can't wait for some colour!!  ☺

This is a circular blog hop, so no matter where you start if you keep going you will end back where you started. If you came from Perfect Finishes Always  then you're in the right order.

As always, I turned to pinterest for some inspiration!  So here are my cards:

I dug through my scrap paper folder and came out with equivalent CTMH colours.  I used my 1" circle punch, and then just layered the circles on a black mat.  The ribbon at the top is self adhesive paper ribbon that I have had for I don't know how long!!  I used CTMH's Mothers Day Occasions stamp set (C1577) for the sentiments both inside and out.  I also used the ribbon on the inside of the card.  Sentiments are stamped in Lagoon Ink.

This was also inspired by Pinterest.  I used buttercup for the base, and a piece of Skylark for the mat.  The flowers are from 3 different stamp sets: You Only Live Once, Happy Thoughts Season & Nature, and Card Word Puzzle.  They are inked in Gypsy, Lagoon, Sorbet and New England Ivy.  (My Buttercup ink is being loaned out at the moment)  I also dug through my bling stash and found some gems leftover from the Frosted Cardmaking WOTG.

Thanks for stopping buy and please feel free to comment. We just love reading them!

  5. The scallop card reminded me of my Mom in the kitchen with her frilly apron. It's the perfect Mother's Day card! I love the sprinkling of flowers on card #2. Spring is in the air!
