So I decided to do a scrapbook for my in-laws to commemorate their 50 years together. This is the first page of that album. I am going to do a green and cream colour scheme. It's neutral and won't overpower anything. Plus it makes it easier for me!! So on this page is one of their wedding pics and the marriage licence which I scanned and then re-printed onto an 8 1/2x11 sheet of cream paper. The letters were rub-ons from my stash. I found it amusing that their occupations were listed as "bachelor" and "spinster" back in the day!! Also, this licence cost them 50 cents. Can you believe that??!! I think you pay $200.00 or something like that these days!! I am never happy with the way my pictures turn out! I took other ones, but this one showed the colours better. Anyway, I have many more pages to create so I guess I better get to it!!

Delight In Life
So this is a card I made for the challenges at Stampin 411. The first is a sketch challenge, and there is also a colour challenge. So here is the sketch:
And here is my card. The colour challenge was to use Concord Grape, So Saffron and Pear Pizzaz. I had just purchased the Grape and Pear colours, and the Saffron was in my stash. The stamp set is from Stampin' Up. I stamped the flower in the three colours, inked the edges and glued to alternating coordinating cardstock. The card base is 5x7. The sentiment is stamped on the reverse of the background paper. I also used a purple flower brad from my stash on the sentiment. I do no know why it loaded sideways. Anyway, here it is!!

Bundle of Boy
This card is for welcoming a baby boy into this world!! The stamp set is from Stampin' Up and coloured with water colour crayons. The inside is stamped with "congratulations on your sweet new arrival". Too bad I don't know anyone who just had a boy!! Anyway, I am going to enter this card at Crafty Creations Challenges, where the theme is "baby blue". It doesn't have to be a baby card, but baby blue has to be incorporated. I thought this card was a good fit for the challenge! And here it is:

30!
This page I did about turning 30. I am technichally 31 and 3/4, but so what!! :) I am going to enter this page at The Studio Challenge. They have a layout challenge to "Scrap Your Age". There is a lot of journalling on this page, but I wanted to incorporate "30 Things About Me" into the layout, and I also did a bit of journalling about the picture. It says "So here I am enjoying one of my favourite drinks (appletini) at one of my favourite restaurants (Mr. Mikes). This picture was taken at my 30th b-day supper. It was a joint b-day supper with my bestie, and great friends. It was such a fun night!" Wasn't too sure that I liked this page at first, but liking it more and more. I used a die cut to trace onto the mutli coloured paper to get the shape. I used Stampin' Up cardstock for the base, then a sheet of vellum like paper, but heavier and I used SU cardstock to frame the pic and journalling. Purple, glittery 30! and some self adhesive foam flowers to fill in the blank spaces and tie the colours together.

Friend to Friend, Happy Birthday
So I saw this sketch at Clean and Simple Stamping, and was originally going to make an anniverary card since I'm in that mode, but then got digging through my scrap paper and came up with this card!! I am also going to enter this card at Crafty Creations Challenges where the theme is "Feminine Birthday in Blues and Greens". Here is the sketch:
Here is my card. The paper is Stampin' Up, the ribbon is from my stash. The flowers are sparkly, but it's hard to tell. I used a green and blue to match the flowery paper. The label is from a stamp set from SU called "Label Classics", and I cut it out. I was going to hide the other half like in the sketch, but really liked how this looked, and it gave me room to stamp the "friend to friend". The sentiments are from a SU set called "Teeny Tiny Wishes". I think this is a card I will be making lots of!! Very versatile and easy!!
Close up of glittery flowers. Colours are much nicer in person!

50th Anniversary Invites
So my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary is this fall, and we are having a get together to celebrate! I was asked to make invitations, and this is what I came up with! All the paper and ribbon were purchased at B&T Ceramics, our local craft store. Hard to tell on this first card, but the paper has a gold shimmer to it. I stamped the little frame at the bottom in gold ink and used a gold pen to write "50th Anniversary" inside it. I also used the same gold ink and pen to stamp and write on the inside of the card. I am also entering this at Moving Along With the Times, where the theme is "anniversary".
And this card I used a gold embossed wedding paper, and the shimmery gold paper to frame the wedding pic, and for the sentiment at the bottom.

Pompa
This is a page I did many years ago about my beloved grandpa. We called him Pompa. The picture is one I had taken years ago with the old film disc cameras, don't know if anyone will remember those!! Anyway, I also have this great picture of him when he was an employee at Eaton's, but it's huge! My granny let me have it after he passed. The poem and all the info came from the handout at his funeral, and the sand dollar is real, complete with sand even!! I included the sand dollar because my Granny and Pompa had beach front property on a little island by Vancouver. We always had to take the ferry to get there, and my favourite childhood memories are there. One of my goals in life is to one day own that house. I remember this being one of the first things I scrapbooked, and it's still my favourite today! Just wanted to share it with y'all!!
